Guest Choreographer: Danny Poland
The Canadian School of Dance is excited to welcome a number of talented guest choreographers to inspire our dancers towards excellence this year.
We’re pleased to introduce you to Danny Poland. A native of Toronto, Danny is certified and a Dance Master of America and A.D.A.P.T. instructor, and is a member of A.C.T.R.A. and the Canadian Actors’ Equity Association (EQUITY).
Danny has danced professionally all across the U.S. and in Canada, performing in shows such as “Funny Girl”, “H.M.S. Pinafore”, “Mame”, “Music Man”, and “Annie”. Danny also performed regularly on many television shows including “Wayne and Schuster”, “Tommy Hunter”, The Juno Awards, The Genie Awards, The ACTRA Awards, “DuMaurier Search for the Stars”, and Canada Day festivities on Parliament Hill. He toured with Patsy Gallant, Alberta ’75, and many Industry conventions and has appeared in movies including “Heavenly Bodies” and “Loose Screws”.
Danny has also received numerous choreography awards and was most proud to receive “The Sherry Gold Memorial Award for Excellence in Choreography” at the American Dance Awards. Danny adjudicates and is in high demand as a Master Class teacher all over Canada and the U.S. He is also very busy choreographing many live fashion shows such as the Promenade and Eaton Centre and live industrials for ” Mark Kay”, Polaris” and Princess Cruise Lines”. Most recently he choreographed “Evita” at the St. Lawrence Centre.
Danny will lead Tap, Jazz, and Contemporary dance and will choreograph a Jazz number for our dancers.
