FIRST STEPS PROGRAM – BOYS AND GIRLS AGES 3 – 5 YRS

CREATIVE MOVEMENT
As an introductory to dance for ages 3yrs and up – this program promotes the child’s natural sense of movement as well as developing a strong sense of musicality. With instruction on basic dance technique, for this age we offer both a basic ballet class and as well as a ‘combo class’ which combines both ballet and tap within the structure of the same class. Children will explore dance movement using interesting rhyming songs and stories. Their love for dance will blossom in this happy and fun environment.

BOYS MAKING NOISE
This program was created with the intention of introducing young boys to music and dance in a more tailored ‘boys only’ environment. Using various musical instruments and a variety of other basic household objects – they will create rhythms and patterns all the while working through basic natural movement with an emphasis on fun ! There are two levels offered, basically differing in age range only. There can certainly be an easy transition to a regular one disciplined dance class from this stream with confidence and a knowing that boys too can love to dance !

Dancers enrolled in the ‘First Steps” Program will perform in our annual recital and parents will be invited to watch a class during our ‘Open House’ in December.
